Creative Ways to Get Your Kids Active
Some parents are lucky enough to have children who just love being active; they’re whirlwinds of activity who never seem to sit still for a moment, while other parents have trouble getting their kids to move off the couch. If you happen to have the latter, you may well be concerned about the effect their inactivity is having on their health, and if that is the case, you need to get creative… Plan a Treasure Hunt Okay, so this isn’t something that you could do every day, but there is no reason why you couldn’t plan a weekly treasure/scavenger hunt, and what better way to motivate the kids to get…

10 Reasons Why Having Kids Close Together is Amazing
The phrase ‘two under two’ is usually accompanied by a grimace. Having kids close together is never spoken about in positive terms. People will be desperate to tell you how hard it is. My kids, now 4.5 and almost 3 years old are only 20 months apart. I’ve been called ‘brave’ lots of times and I’ve even had a few people ask me to my face if my second child was an accident, because surely no right minded person would actually plan to have kids 20 months apart? Well, we mustn’t be right minded because we planned our kids close together. We had a hard time conceiving our first so…

Tuff Tray Accessories: My Top Picks
If you are a parent or carer of a young child, you are probably familiar with tuff trays (otherwise known as tuff spots). I have written before about how I personally prefer a smaller, inflatable play tray as an alternative but they both serve essentially the same purpose. To get you started, here are some of the tuff tray accessories I have purchased to help enable sensory and imaginative play: A great place to start is with some bottles of food colouring. You can use these to dye pasta, rice or even sand, or to colour water. One of our favourite activities is to dye small amounts of sands different…

Cheap Kitchen Renovation: how I transformed my kitchen for under £250
Last summer we did a cheap kitchen renovation but this blog post about it has been seriously delayed because I was waiting for the kitchen to be immaculately clean and tidy to take perfect ‘after’ photos. Well, turns out, with 2 pre-school children and a dog I would be waiting forever for that day so I have just bitten the bullet and here we are: the story of our cheap kitchen renovation. We moved into our current home in the summer of 2017. It was clear that the previous owners had spent a large amount of money on the kitchen – there was a Rangemaster cooker and the units are…

Why credit cards can be a GOOD thing (a collaborative post with Carina Advisors)
We hear it all the time – debt is bad, avoid debt at all costs. Often, people are terrified to even take out a credit card, fearing that it will start them on a slippery slope to financial ruin. I have had credit cards since I was 18 and I must confess, in my younger years I was irresponsible with them, barely managing to make the minimum payment each month whilst my balance grew higher and higher. Even though I had only accrued less than £1,000 of debt, my credit card bill felt like a chain around my neck. I educated myself and realised that I needed to clear my…

Mrs Hinch Spring Cleaning Giveaway
It is now March and we are still getting a few sprinklings of snow here and there up here in Scotland. But every now and then there are brief moments where it feels like a hint of Spring is in the air – hooray! Spring is my favourite season, although there is one slight downside to to the brighter, warmer weather: the bright sunshine streaming through the windows shows up every speck of dust and grime in my house! Sometimes it feels like every surface is covered in a fine layer of yogurt and there are dirty fingerprints every where – the joy of having small kids. There is nothing…

Win a Mothers’ Day Prize Bundle
Mothers’ Day is definitely a day for celebrating all the mums in our lives, whether it be you yourself as a mum, your own mum, your friends who are mums. I am delighted to announce that I have teamed up with a whole bunch of my fellow fabulous UK bloggers to run a giveaway. Why not enter to win the prizes for a special mum in…

Passive Income in the UK: effortless ways to earn money
As the cost of living rises and rises but wages remain pretty stagnant, there are so many of us looking to earn passive income in the UK. Money poor, time poor…. does that sounds familiar? Obviously there are lots of different ways to make money but in my opinion nothing beats income that is earned without lifting a finger. Earning Money from your PC/Macbook/laptop I signed up for two passive income programmes – Honeygain and Gener8 Ads – some time ago. These programs run in the background of your computer and earn you money or tokens that can be exchanged for goods and gift cards. Some of the earnings claims…
