Hello, looks like you have found this post because you are looking for an easy bubble mixture recipe. My kids LOVE bubbles. We go through bubble mixture incredibly fast… especially when my two year old takes control of the bubble wand and inevitably tips out the mixture onto the ground within a few seconds.
I have been getting a bit fed up of repeatedly buying new tubs of bubble mixture – not only is it expensive (like, hello, £7 for 2 litres?!) but all that plastic is so wasteful. So I thought I would try to make it myself.
Unfortunately a lot of the recipes I have found call for the use of glycerine, which is not something I keep at home and is expensive to buy online. So is there such a thing as an easy bubble mixture recipe without glycerine?
It turns out that yes – you can make a good and easy bubble mixture without glycerine and chances are you already have the very simple ingredients at home.
We have been trying and testing the below recipe for the last couple of weeks and can confirm that it works great!
Ingredients
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons washing up liquid (dish soap)
1 cup water (about 240ml)
Directions
Simply put all the ingredients and stir gently until the sugar is dissolved
Let me know how you get on if you try this! Hopefully you can save a lot of money (and a lot of plastic) over the many years that your kids love playing with bubbles.
