I love making money through affiliate marketing. If you don’t know what it is, it’s where you recommend a product/service to someone else, and if they sign up, you as the referrer receive some kind of benefit – often money. Below I have rounded up a few of the best affiliate programs in the UK, in my opinion.

How to make money through affiliate programs

When you sign up, you will have a link (called an affiliate or a refer a friend link) that you can share with others. Here are some suggestions of ways you can share it:

• Get your family members to sign up
• Share with your friends via email/Whatsapp
• Share on social media
• Promote via forums (like Reddit)
• Promote via a blog

Whilst there are so many schemes that are out there that will earn you pennies, I am highlighting the below three because they offer a real chance to make some good money.

Trading 212

How does it work?

Sign up to Trading 212 and deposit £1 – I’ve written a full post about Trading 212 with more information here. For each person who clicks your link and funds their account (i.e. deposits £1), you get a free share worth up to £100. The person you referred also gets a free share too. You can refer up to 20 people.

How do I find my affiliate link to share?

Once you’ve signed up, look for the ‘Get free shares!’ option on the menu – you will find your unique referral link here.

Note: there is currently a waitlist for Trading 212 but the good news that if someone joins the waiting list via your referral code, you will still be credited with the free share when registrations finally re-open.

Topcashback

How does it work?

Sign up to Topcashback, if you haven’t already. Here’s a blog post I have previously written explaining how Topcashback works. For each new person you refer to Topcashback you will receive £7.50, but there are often promotional spells where you can earn a whopping £20 (the person you refer must generate £10 in payable cashback before the referral bonus will be paid). The person you refer also benefits from a £5 sign up bonus from using your link.

Once you have signed up to Topcashback, click on the ‘Tell-a-Friend’ link.

Stake

How does it work?

Sign up to Stake and deposit £50 – I’ve written a full post about Stake with more information here. For each person who clicks your link and funds their account (i.e. deposits £50), you get to spin a wheel to get a free share in either Nike, Dropbox or GoPro (worth between approximately £4 – £90 at the time of writing). The person you referred also gets a free share too.
