Edinburgh Date Ideas
Back when I met my husband, around 13 years ago, if someone told you that they were registered with an online dating site you would have raised an eyebrow. Fast forward to 2019, and if you are single and looking for love, it’s probably very unlikely that you aren’t dabbling with online dating. We met each other way back then the ‘old fashioned way’ – in a bar – and over the years we have had lots of different dates in our home city of Edinburgh, so I’d like to draw on our experience and share some ideas that are a bit more unusual than dinner/drinks/a movie: Cycle the Union…

Subscription Boxes for Foodies (…that are actually affordable!)

Seaside Squad // Living Arrows [38/52]
“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” – Kahlil Gibran We just got back from a lovely few days at Haven’s Haggerston Castle resort. Much like when we visited Craig Tara, Lauren was enamoured with the Seaside Squad so we bought a professional photo of her and the gang to have as a momento. She insisted on carrying it on our walk today in case we bumped into anyone we knew – she is so keen to show anyone and everyone.

Bringing the Restaurant Experience Home – Hosting on a Budget
It’s good to socialise with friends and loved ones, but at times the cost of going out for a meal can cause certain anxieties around trying to stick to a very strict budget to cover the costs of everyday living. This can be particularly challenging when there are kids growing out of clothes, or coming home from school with another letter about another school trip/ activity session/ fundraising event. Creating a Light and Airy Home
The house that I am currently living in is the fifth home that I have owned, so I have had lots of fresh starts in terms of deciding how I wish to decorate. Each time I have moved, through trial and error I have gradually refined my tastes and I can now say that I am very happy with how my current home is decorated and furnished. I used to be into bold and opulent prints and colours (I still have a Cadbury purple 3 piece suite to remind me of that phase…) but now I am much more into a more basic, bright and airy Scandi style. I have…
